Abstract

AbstractThis article introduces projection pursuit and its history. It describes two basic elements of projection pursuit and ideas for choosing the elements in practice. How to judge the interestingness of a projection pursuit solution is discussed via p‐values of projection pursuit. The other variants or applications of projection pursuit, such as projection pursuit regression and projection pursuit density estimation, are also provided. The article concludes with a discussion on interactive projection pursuit.
