Abstract

As Guest‐Editor Neil Leach highlights, designing for Space vacillates between two distinct approaches, ‘the mercilessly functional or the indulgently fantastic’ with little middle ground. Here he features the work of students internationally that embody these two discrete strands, from RMIT University in Melbourne, California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), University of Applied Arts Vienna, University of Southern California (USC), Dessau Institute of Architecture (DIA) in Germany, and the Sasakawa International Center for Space Architecture (SICSA) at the University of Houston.
