Projected Hartree-Fock+BCS spectra of Mg isotopes

Abstract

We have developed a method to project simultaneously on angular momentum and particle number Hartree-Fock+BCS nuclear wave functions. The method generalizes previous developments in which mean field wave functions were mixed as a function of a collective variable by the Generator Coordinate Method (GCM). Calculations have been performed for several Mg isotopes, where spectra and transition probabilities have been determined. The axial quadrupole moment has been used as a generator coordinate. We show here test results obtained for 24Mg.
