Abstract

Purpose – Highlights the benefits of project-management training at two organizations – AMEC the multinational engineering, project-management and consultancy firm, and nuclear-energy company Magnox. Design/methodology/approach – Considers the reasons for training at the two organizations, the form it takes and the benefits it has brought. Findings – Reveals that both organizations have worked closely with project-management consultancy and training company 20|20. Practical implications – Stresses that achieving corporate accreditation for project managers is a complex and lengthy undertaking and 20|20 guided both organizations through the process. Originality/value – Observes how good project-management skills can save time and money on large and complicated projects.
