Abstract

Teachers of mathematics at all grade levels face the problem of upgrading their knowledge in mathematics, because the content now being taught includes many ideas that are unfamiliar to many teachers. This upgrading problem exists for experienced as well as inexperienced teachers at all levels, but it is especially acute for experienced elementary school teachers who are using a contemporary mathematics book.
