Abstract

AIM: Repeated applications of High Concentration Capsaicin 8% Topical System (HCCTS) for 52 weeks was investigated in patients with PDPN (PACE, Vinik et al 2016 and 2019) and patients with non-diabetic PNP (STRIDE, Gálvez et al, 2017). In PACE, HCCTS demonstrated greater efficacy than SOC and that differential treatment effect increased over time whereas in STRIDE, a subset of patients who received 4 consecutive HCCTS treatments displayed reduction in average daily pain scores. We conducted an analysis of those 2 studies considering a subset of subjects defined as initial non-responders to provide responder rates insights beyond the first HCCTS application.
