Abstract

This paper discusses the actions taken by the City of Vero Beach to secure a reliable source of potable water and to reduce the demand on the potable system caused by irrigation. This discussion includes evaluation of a new raw water source, treatment process evaluation, and the interaction with the existing treatment plant. It also discusses the process the City followed in identifying the demand that a reuse system would generate, the development of the reuse master plan, and the procedure followed in determining an equitable price for the reclaimed water.
