Abstract
Lactobacillus (LB) , which is a kind of acidproof and acid-producing bacteria, can be efficiently involved into the metabolism of sugar, contributing to the demineralization of tooth tissue. As the main cariogenic bacteria, LB plays a crucial role in the beginning phase of dental caries, and is closely associated with the development of caries. Children dental caries has its own characteristics. In this paper, we would make a review of the epidemiology of children caries (age < 12 year old) , flora distribution and genotype of the cariogenic lactobacillus, and the interaction with other cariogenic bacteria in progress of dental caries.
