Abstract

With the development of economy and medicine in our society, the detection rate and prevalence of diabetes have been substantially surging. Because of this phenomenon, the chronic disease and its complications have been gradually highlighted by people. Therefore, people always focus on the prevention and treatment of type 2 diabetes. Recently, with the further study on genome and transcriptome, a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA), longer than 200 bp, has been brought in to focus gradually, of which the transcript, as an epigenetic regulator, plays an important role in each process of biological cells. The antisense non-coding RNA in the INK4 locus (ANRIL) has been verified to be highly related to diabetes and other diseases. By the further study for ANRIL, corresponding methods and strategies of prevention and treatment for diabetes could be proposed. Key words: Long non-coding RNA; Antisense non-coding RNA in the INK4 locus; Diabetes
