Abstract

The diagnosis and treatment of invasive fungal infections (IFIs) remains a challenge. At present, the diagnosis of IFIs mainly relies on pathogenic culture, serological examination, imaging techniques as well as molecular biology detection. Positron emission tomography combined with X-ray computed tomography(PET/CT)is a rapidly developing imaging technique in recent 20 years, which has obvious superiority to traditional image examinations in diagnosis and localization of infected lesions and evaluation of therapeutic effect. This article reviews the research advances of 18F-deoxyglucose(18F-FDG)PET/CT in diagnosis and evaluation of IFIs. Key words: Fungal infection; 18F-FDG; PET/CT; Research progress
