Abstract
This volume contains seven articles dealing with various subjects of medical genetics, written by different authors. The chapters are, according to the editors, critical essays rather than exhaustive reviews. The first chapter by Carr represents a concise description of Chromosomal Abnormalities in Clinical Medicine. As the author points out, over 100 different human chromosome disorders have been described since the first anomaly was reported in 1959. The huge amount of material accumulated during the last ten years was condensed in 44 pages which are rich in factual information and supplemented by 16 pages of references. Sex chromosome and autosome abnormalities, including deletion syndromes, ring chromosomes, and translocations are briefly discussed.
