Abstract

The latest studies on the design methodology and life estimation for major components of steam turbines and boilers were reviewed. Relationships which enable the calculation of actual creep damage were clarified by many studies. Several revolutional devices were introduced, which enables the detection of local creep and fatigue damage. Remaining studies such as life estimation of welded joints in the design stages are discussed.
