Progress in application of multifocal intraocular lens

Abstract

New types of multifocal intraocular lens have launched nowadays, which can minimize the disadvantages, such as zonal refractive intraocular lens, extended range of vision intraocular lens, trifocal intraocular lens and so on. For the intermediate visual acuity and contrast sensitivity after cataract surgery, multifocal intraocular lens can improve greatly and minimize the disadvantages of glare and halos. This article summarizes the progress of new typies of multifocal intraocular lens on design and clinical application.
