Abstract
The development of therapeutic antibodies experienced three stages, including stage of heterologous antibodies, humanized antibodies and fully human antibodies. At present, the research of fully human therapeutic antibodies is the key direction of its development, and phage antibody library technology provides a good technological platform for preparation of fully human antibodies. Phage display antibody library is the combination of antibody library and phage display technology, and is a significant advance in the field of antibody engineering in the early 1990s and has been widely used in many fields of biomedicine. In this paper, the principle, classification, screening methods and main application fields of this technology are reviewed. Key words: Antibodies; Phage display technology; Phage antibody library
