Abstract

A system is described which allows the display of images stored on a compact disk. The pictures can be displayed in a standard TV quality at a 50 Hz rate and also flicker-free at a double display rate of 100 Hz. The stand-alone basic system may be extended by a personal computer for picture manipulations, a modem, and a color TV camera digitizer. The connection to the digitizer allows the system to be used to store pictures taken by a camera on an erasable compact disk. The modem enables the transfer of images via a telephone- or data-network. >
