Abstract

The Local Innovation Agents Program (ALI) is a relevant extension initiative developed in an inter-institutional coordination in order to promote innovation in small Brazilian businesses through the operationalization of the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (SEBRAE) and funding from the National Council Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). Structured through a case study with the application of a semi-structured survey to a sample of 25 small companies in a universe of 40 in the data collection, combined with a graphic analysis and an administrative hermeneutics in the data analysis, this research has an exploratory and descriptive nature regarding to the purposes and quali-quantitative nature regarding the means. Based on the results presented it is concluded that the implementation of the Local Innovation Agents Program (ALI) has had positive indicators in the promotion of innovation in local small business in the municipality of Boa Vista in Roraima as well as shared by the perception of the businessmen served.
