Abstract
Background: Left atrium (LA) maximum volume index (LAVImax) is a known predictor of adverse cardiovascular outcomes in a range of patient groups, including the post–myocardial infarction (MI) population. However, measures of LA function may be a more powerful prognostic marker. At present, there are minimal data on the prognostic impact of LA function following MI.
