Abstract

Methods Clinical data and DCMR results were analyzed in patients with peripheral arterial disease undergoing DCMR between 2000 and 2004. Peripheral arterial disease was defined as significant stenosis or occlusion of peripheral arteries of the lower and upper extremity or of the carotid artery. After an average of 35 ± 17 months, 140 patients (median age, 65 years) were contacted and medical records were reviewed. Wall motion abnormalities (WMA) at rest and the presence of stress-induced WMA (ischemia) were assessed for each patient. Cardiac events, defined as cardiac death and non-fatal myocardial infarction, were assessed.
