Abstract

Background; Urinary bladder cancer (BC) is the ninth most common cancer in the world and the 13th cause of cancer deaths, Aim and objectives; to assess the role of pretreatment NLR as a predictor of clinical outcomes in patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) who underwent intravesical BCG treatment, Subjects and methods; This retrospective cohort study was carried upon 20 patients having non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) and will be done in Ain shams university hospital. The duration of the study ranged from 6-12 months, Result; No significant differences were found between cancer free patients and patients with recurrence at 1st follow up cystoscopy regarding tumor size (p>0.05). Tumor multiplicity showed significant difference between the two groups as it was significantly higher in cases with recurrence (p<0.001). There was significant relation between results of first follow up cystoscopy and further follow up cystoscopy (p<0.001). By using ROC-curve analysis, NLR can predict recurrence at first follow up cystoscopy at cutoff 3.3 with sensitivity, specificity, PPV and NPV was 93.55%, 78.26%, 65.9% and 96.4% respectively and AUC was 0.850,
