Abstract

The cytokine receptor-like factor 2 (CRLF2) gene is overexpressed in a subgroup of precursor B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (pB-ALL) caused by different genetic aberrations. However, only the presence of the P2RY8-CRLF2 rearrangement is associated with a poor prognosis. Recently, we showed that the presence of the P2RY8-CRLF2 rearrangement is characterized by a distinct transcriptome profiling as detected by next generation sequencing (NGS) and we were interested whether gene identified here are of prognostic relevance also for childhood ALL irrespective of the CRLF2 status.
