Abstract

Assessing the severity of tricuspid regurgitation (TR) remains challenging. Current cutoff values do not comprehensively reflect the true spectrum of TR. Guidelines suggest a multiparametric, (semi-)quantitative approach, using a three-grade classification system. According to these guidelines, an effective regurgitant orifice area (EROA) cutoff of >40 mm2 indicates severe TR.1
