Abstract

Objective To analyze retrospectively the information of survival situation about advanced metastatic androgen-independent prostate cancer (AIPC) in order to find the prognostic factors. Methods Data from 132 patients with advanced metastatic prostate cancer progressed into the stage of AIPC after hormone therapy between June 2005 and December 2012 were retrospectively analyzed.Specific information was abstracted, then Kaplan-Meier curves,Cox regression and log-rank chi-square test were computed using SPSS 17.0.Results At the final follow-up,20 cases were alive,102 cases were dead and 10 cases were lost to follow up.Median survival from diagnosis of AIPC was (25.0 ± 3.1) months, and the one-,two-,and three-year survival rate was 85%,53%,and 23% respectively.By univariate and multivariate Cox regression analysis revealed that the baseline prostate-specific antigen (PSA),hemoglobin(Hb),alkaline phosphatase (ALP),lactate dehydrogenase (LDH),and nadir PSA levels after hormone therapy,PSA doubling time (PSADT) in AIPC,and time to First-Line Endocrine Therapy were calculated to be independent prognostic factors of advanced metastatic AIPC.Conclusion Baseline PSA,Hb,ALP,LDH,nadir PSA level after therapy,PSADT,and time to First-Line Endocrine Therapy were independent prognostic factors of advanced metastatic AIPC. Key words: Androgen-independent prostate cancer; Prognostic factor
