Abstract

The outcome in 63 patients with moderate and severe head injury with either intra-cerebral haemorrhage (or) contusion was studied. The following features were studied: age, GCS score, midline shift, basal cisterns and mortality index. There was no difference in outcome between between ICH and contusion with regard to age and GCS score when the GCS score less than 8. When the GCS score was more than 8, when the midline shift was present, when the basal cisterns were obliterated there was a statistically significant difference between both the groups.
