Abstract

The Dionysiac artists' currency on the Attic-weight standard issued at Teos was considered a panegyris currency, and was associated with the synoikismos and the organization of the city panegyris at Teos. A number of inscriptions from mainland Greece and Asia Minor provide evidence for the international currencies with which the artists preferred to be paid.
