Abstract

A novel power compensation control strategy based on profit optimization is proposed in this study for the grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) system in low-voltage grid. Unlike the conventional control strategy, which only considers from the perspective of the distribution system operators (DSOs), the proposed control strategy not only meets the requirements of the DSOs but also maximize the profit for the owner of the PV systems through the profit optimization of reactive power control. Some experimental tests are realized to validate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy. The experimental results show that the profit optimization-based power compensation control strategy increases the profit by 9.81% in overvoltage condition and 3.24% in undervoltage condition.
