Hughes, Cara Joy Abstract The profile of La radiation Doppler-scattered by free electrons in the solar corona has been examined, both as a function of the coronal temperature and of the geometric nroperties of scattering along a line of sight off the solar limb. The significance of the profile width at half-intensity as a measure of coronal temperature is then discussed.
