ABSTRACT Dr. A. Thomas McLellan is a distinguished clinical researcher noted for his achievements and impact in the field of addiction studies. He worked to bring reforms to drug and alcohol addiction treatment, including identifying substance use disorder as a chronic health condition instead of a moral lapse, and improving access to and quality of evidence-based treatment for people with chronic addiction.
