Abstract

Current guidelines recommend aortic valve replacement (AVR) in patients with severe symptomatic aortic stenosis (AS). However, recent data suggest similar benefits of AVR in asymptomatic severe AS, with untreated severe and moderate AS patients having similar mortality profiles. We sought to determine the prevalence of symptoms in a large Australian cohort presenting with moderate and severe AS.
