Abstract
In this chapter, profile control and flooding technology are introduced as the important technical means to enhance the oil recovery during water flooding development. Through a combined utilization of different EOR mechanisms, the profile control and flooding technology can simultaneously expand the sweep volume and improve the displacement efficiency, thereby maximizing the oil recovery. Pressure index (PI) decision is designed to evaluate the profile control and flooding potential of reservoir blocks, and the iso-pressure drawdown gradient design of profile control agent is established to achieve large-scale deep-flow regulation. Meanwhile, a variety of profile control and flooding agents are introduced, profile control and flooding techniques are developed. The application effect of profile control and flooding technology in oilfield is demonstrated by representative cases.
