Abstract

This study, inside of a qualitative cultural-historical approach, analyzes what the attitudes of basic education teachers regarding actions on themes of sexuality and drugs that are performed by nursing undergraduates in schools. The technique of focus group and observation was used to develop the research in three public schools in the countryside of the Sao Paulo state. Twenty-nine teachers participated. The teachers, because of their worries regarding situations that emerge in the school environment and problems handling themes of sexuality and drugs, hope that actions for health promotion be perceived as necessary and have long-term durations so that they meet the demands of their students.
