Abstract
The following case involves Mr John Paxton, a deputy charge nurse working on a ward for patients with chronic and severe behavioural disorders. When Mr Paxton came on duty during the Christmas period, he brought a video which the patients had requested. However, the three nursing assistants on duty did not agree that the film should be shown as it contained sexually explicit scenes which they thought might upset the patients and cause difficulties in relation to patient management.
