Abstract

The article outlines topical issues of improving the content of professional training of future primary school teachers on the basis of sustainable development. The purpose of this study is to outline ways to implement the ideas of sustainable development in the educational process of higher education institutions in general, in the training of students majoring in «Primary Education» in particular. The following theoretical methods provided the basis of scientific research: analysis of psychological and pedagogical, methodological and special literature, information sources on the issue; generalization, comparison, comprehension of information on the conditions of training future primary school teachers on the basis of sustainable development. As a result of research conducted the organizational and pedagogical conditions of professional training of applicants for higher education on the basis of sustainable development were established. We believe that the training of primary school professionals is effective if a system of real education practices for sustainable development is created, which combines formal, non-formal and informal education. It has been proved that the effective training of future primary school teachers on the basis of sustainable development within formal education should be interdisciplinary, as it is related to the global, comprehensiveness of sustainable development as a phenomenon. It was found that the condition for the organization of a successful educational environment of the university on the basis of sustainable development is the use of new pedagogical models, new pedagogical culture and thinking, new technologies and teaching methods. Among them is the pedagogy of empowerment (motivation and inspiration for action). An important condition for the training of modern applicants for higher education is the interactivity of the educational environment.It is established that education for sustainable development is an important area of training for higher pedagogical education, as the Concept of the New Ukrainian School declares the principles of sustainable development. The training of future primary school teachers in this area involves the acceptance of the values of sustainable development as personal qualities and determines the willingness of future primary education professionals to implement the ideas of sustainable development in the practice of modern primary school.
