Abstract

AbstractA sample of phenol‐formaldehyde was flash‐pyrolyzed 11 times in the reaction chamber of a time‐of‐flight mass spectrometer. Quantitative analyses were determined for pyrolysis products which were present within 10 sec. after each flash. A high degree of consistency between compositions of products from consecutive flashes resulted. The significance of the results is discussed.
