Abstract

This paper discusses some of the major factual results and discussions of the effects of implementation of a cellular manufacturing environment on the productivity of people, management and facilities, as was experienced in this study. It is suggested that significant improvements at very low costs are possible at managerial, and other work force levels, by introduction of appropriate production management systems. This is based on analysis of the changes in production costs and more importantly the behaviour of employees brought about by a first time implementation of cellular manufacturing in a company.
