Abstract

Efficient innovation management implies permanent business process redesign, particularly in the production planning area. New products and new technologies may completely change not only the material flow, but also other conditions that are essential for effective production planning and scheduling. This may require sufficient changes in the production planning system. This idea is illustrated by a case study of production planning and scheduling system redesign in a New Zealand medium size food manufacturing company, as a result of the introduction of new multipack products.
