Abstract

Tungsten sulfide nanotubes have been prepared at low temperature—the preparation of such closed fullerene-like structures normally requires very high temperatures. Acid treatment, heating under vacuum to 100 °C, and sonication were used to produce the tubes, which were examined using transmission electron microscopy (see Figure) and atomic force microscopy.
