Abstract

AbstractA simple agar medium emended with leaf pieces of Hydrangea or Gardenia (ALP) was found to be effective for perithecia and ascospore formation of Glomerella singulata, Mycosphaerella allicina, Metasphaeria sp., Guignardia sp. and Pleospora herbarum which failed to form ascospores on potato dextrose agar (PDA). No perithecia of Gibberella formed on this medium, but sporodochial conidia of Fusarium formed on ALP but not on PDA.
