Abstract

The global organic acid market is expected to reach USD 36.86 Billion in 2026. This study aimed to produce citric, itaconic, and gluconic acids by using a biotechnological process in a lightly stirred bioreactor with fungus from the genus Aspergillus spp. These fermentations processes provided good yields, 22.6%, 99.9%, and 24.8% (48 h) for citric, gluconic, and itaconic acids, respectively.KeywordsOrganic acidCitric acidGluconic acidItaconic acidFermentation process
