Abstract

Quantum statistics are taken into account in the study of chemical equilibrium in the collision of two heavy ions. The results are compared with those of classical Maxwell-Boltzmann statistics. It is proved that there are more tritons than 3He when the initial system is proton deficient. The problem of Bose condensation of alpha particles and the effect of finite fragment volumes are discussed.
