Abstract

The quality of detector single crystals is determined by the lifetime and mobility of nonequilibrium charge carriers, which depend on the purity of the components used for synthesis. An original setup for multistage vacuum distillation of Cd, Zn, and Te is designed, which is characterized by the simplicity of equipment and the minimal loss of the initial material. The purified materials have low contents of oxygen and metal impurities, which allow one to significantly increase the purity of the synthesized crystals.
