Abstract

Hemihydrate gypsum was produced by two methods: (1) spray dryer, and (2) rotary kiln. The chemical and physical properties of the two products were compared by carrying out seven different tests. The product obtained by the spray dryer was by far better than that from the rotary kiln. Also the amount of fuel saved when using the spray dryer was more than 100%.
