Abstract
OAO Novolipetskii Metallurgicheskii Kombinat (NLMK) is one of the largest producers of electrical steel in Russia and the world, with more than 50 years’ experience in the manufacture of transformer steel and more than 25 years’ experience in the manufacture of dynamo steel. The steel is produced to both national and international standards and meets the highest customer requirements. New products and improved technologies are constantly being introduced at OAO NLMK. Information is presented regarding the production of new grades of electrical steel (in particular, transformer steel with laser treatment, transformer steel of thickness 0.23 mm, and highly permeable dynamo steel). Prospects for future development are outlined.
