Abstract

The design and technology of manufacture of austenitic steel–α-titanium alloy tubular bimetallic transition pieces, working in water and high parameter steam, are described. The structure of the welded joint was examined by metallographic and X-ray spectrum methods, and the transition pieces were subjected to corrosion tests showing that they operate efficiently in the given service conditions.
