Abstract
The purpose of the work was to conduct research to assess the possibility of using local clay raw materials of the Ziminsky deposit and ash-slag mixtures of the Novo-Ziminskaya thermal power plant in the production technology of building ceramics. According to the results of the research, the optimal technological characteristics and the main physical and mechanical properties of the obtained materials were established. The strength of the shard was compared between samples obtained from pure clay, from clay and ash-slag mixture, and from pure ZSHS. When conducting research to assess the quality of raw materials for the production of building ceramics, X – ray fluorescence analysis was used. The mineral composition of the studied raw materials was determined by X-ray phase analysis, and the strength of the obtained samples was determined by the method of destruction on a hydraulic press. Also, according to the standard method, the clay parameters were evaluated – granulometric composition and plasticity, as well as physical and mechanical characteristics. Next, the possibility of filling the clay with 15% ash was evaluated, followed by an assessment of the strength of the resulting shard. The kinetics of changes in the strength of the obtained samples depending on a number of factors, such as the pressing pressure, the molding moisture content of the charge and the firing temperature, were studied. Further, using the method of mathematical planning, we established the optimal technological parameters and determined the main physical and mechanical properties of ash ceramics (density, water absorption, complete shrinkage and compressive strength). The changes in the strength of the molded samples were studied depending on the following factors: the pressing pressure, the percentage of melt, the content of the superplasticizer used to improve the molding ability of the charge and reduce the water content.
