Abstract

New experimental data on Δ isobar production in pion single charge exchange reaction are discussed. The structure observed in the cross section of pion production by proton collision with nuclei at 350 MeV is explained as narrow resonance with a spin and parity 2+ and a width of about 7 Mev. This resonance can be interpreted as the excitation of ΔΔ state in nucleus with subsequent two pion decay.
