Abstract

The product operator theory is widely used for analytical description of multi-pulse Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) experiments for weakly coupled spin systems. Two-dimensional liquid-state NMR experiments including edited-pulse angles such as DEPT–HMQC, MAXY–HMQC allow enhancing more information than conventional ones for weakly coupled spin systems in complex molecules. In this study, analytical descriptions of 2D MAXY–HMQC NMR experiment are performed using product operator theory for weekly coupled IS n ( I = 1/2, S = 1; n = 1, 2, 3) spin systems. By using these results, theoretical discussions and experimental suggestions for sub-spectral editing of CD, CD 2, and CD 3 groups are presented.
