Abstract

The fashion industry is the second largest contributor to waste in the world, one of the things that can be done to minimize the waste produced is by upcycling fashion or utilizing fashion waste into valuable products. The focus of this research is pre-consumer waste generated by CV Akhtar Bag Makers and the waste to be utilized is cordura fabric waste, as the most generated waste. In this study, the author used a design by doing method through a material exploration approach to find the potential that cordura fabric waste can produce, so that it can produce bag products that have value by reducing the amount of new waste produced and helping fashion waste management in the industry.
