Abstract

The article discusses various insect pests kept in a laboratory refrigerator by director Mark Hoddle of the University of California, Riverside's Center for Invasive Species Research for use in DNA studies. Information on insects such as the coconut rhinoceros beetle (Oryctes rhinoceros), the coconut palm weevil (Rhynchophorus vulneratus), and the avocado seed moth (Stenoma catenifer) is presented.
