Abstract

The formulation of procyanidin gels based on cellulose and carraghenan derivatives was studied. These gels need to have pH values compatible with anti-ulcer therapy, and a satisfactory viscosity. Their consistency was evaluated by measuring their spreading diameter, and by a rheological study. The speading diameter and viscosity of the formulations based on cellulose derivatives were linearly related.
