Abstract
A novel method is demonstrated for processing carbon nanotubes (CNTs) with a variable-pressure scanning electron microscope. CNTs are cut or bent by electron beam irradiation in a few seconds under low vacuum conditions, 10–100 Pa. It is found that the gas species has no significant effect on the processing.
